Harvested on the rolling hills south of Florence, this blend comes from the 3 main olive varieties of Firenze: Frantoio 50%, Moraiolo 30% and Leccino (about 20%). The best oils are harvested between Oct. 15 and Nov. 20 for quality and aroma. First and cold-extracted EVOO: Gourmet Living's olive oil blend conforms to all International Olive Oil ("IOC") standards and is mechanically extracted and pressed to insure that no changes occur to the oil. This first-pressed EVOO has free acidity limits of less than 0.8% and has not undergone treatment other than washing, separation and filtration.
