Merav Asher's "Kid Power" parachute is a fun and engaging activity which has three great applications: 1. As a group activity- birthday party, friendly gathering or play date for school-aged kids 2.As a class activity for educational games,learning about the earth's rotation around the sun 3. As an ice-breaker or to introduce a new kid in town, in class, in day care etc. When your child's BIRTHDAY arrives, it's time to celebrate! The Kid Power parachute measures 9-3/4 x 9-3/4 feet (3 x 3 meters) and has an extra-special element to empower children - the coveted center spot, reserved for the birthday child. Various games can be played. There are 4 small baskets on each of four sides of the circle and all members of the group will hold the parachute by the edge on all sides. The center child can lead activities and invite their guests to join them in dances, movements and place-swapping. This leadership role can significantly contribute to raising a child's self-confidence and self-esteem among peers, which may transfer to many other social settings. In a CLASSROOM setting, the parachute can help teach about the earth's movement around the sun! (see instructions). Teachers and home-schooling families can lead educational games that promote physical activity, improve gross motor skills and foster cooperative active play and teamwork. Like throwing balls in the pockets, or lifting and raising the parachute a specific amount of times.
